Interreligious Fellowship For the Homeless of Bergen County
Phi Theta Kappa will be volunteering at the family shelter at St. Cecelia's church, a branch of the Interreligious Fellowship For the Homeless of Bergen County located at 65 Demarest Avenue, Englewood, NJ. Directions can be found at the end of this message.
Members, all you have to do is prepare and serve dinner to the families (An experienced cook would be more helpful). The shelter also needs overnight volunteers to simply watch over the shelter (optional). Whether you choose to prepare a meal, watch over the shelter, or both, you will need to have a partner. So, you can have a friend or family member volunteer with you. If you don't have a partner, I will be more than willing to team you up with another volunteer. Trust me—it’ll be a lot of fun.

Note: Cook volunteers must arrive at 5pm and dinner should be served at 7pm. Overnight volunteers must arrive at 7pm.
Overnight: Monday, November 24th.
Dinner: Thursday, November 27th.
Overnight: Thursday, November 27th.
Dinner: Friday, November 28th.
Overnight: Friday, November 28th.
IMPORTANT: Your agreement to contribute your time implies a firm commitment to do this and your arrival on time. The shelter will depend upon you. In case of dire illness, contact Kate Duggan at 201-833-8009.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FAMILY SHELTER AT ST. CECILIA’S
65 Demarest Avenue, Englewood, NJ 07631
From Rt. 4: Take Englewood/Leonia Exit (Grand Ave.) and proceed towards Englewood. Continue through 4 lights. At the 4th light (Palisade Ave.) the road you are on changes its name to Engle Street. Continue on Engle St. to second light, which is Demarest Ave. (St. Paul's Episcopal Church is on the corner). Turn LEFT onto Demarest and go through 2 quick lights and over the railroad tracks. St. Cecilia's Church is on the right.
The Family Shelter (Fellowship House) is located at 65 Demarest Avenue between Tenafly Road and North Dean Street, which runs parallel to Engle Street in what used to be St. Cecelia’s High School. Look for St. Cecilia’s Church (You can’t miss it. It is the large cathedral). Coming from Engle Street, turn right into the driveway immediately after the church.
When you get into the parking lot, there is a building on your left (formerly St. Cecilia’s High School) with the number 65 above a set of double glass doors. There is also a white a blue sign that reads, “Charter School of the Palisades.” This is the entrance to the Family Shelter. Come in, walk down the stairs and the shelter is immediately in front of you. If door from the parking lot is locked, ring bell on the LEFT.
